The FEF18 places fixed control knobs on the left and right sides of a single positioning axis. Either control adjusts the same rail, allowing a natural wrist position on either side of the camera.
One axis, accessible from either side
A 1:1 bevel-gear transmission drives the rail with a 4 mm screw lead. The travel range is 120 mm. The side controls are not independent axes and do not provide different gear ratios. The mechanism is maintenance-free.

Position holding and mounting
For horizontal adjustment, the lock may remain released. In vertical use the carriage may creep; engage the lock after positioning and release it before adjusting again.
The upper Arca-type clamp can be removed and refitted at 90°. The bottom offers an Arca-type profile and three 1/4-inch threaded mounting holes.

Manual focus stacking
Move the camera in controlled steps, expose a sequence with overlapping focus regions, then combine the frames in post-processing. Step size depends on magnification and depth of field.
