The LS001-4w adds lateral movement to single-axis focusing, giving macro photographers independent control in two directions. Move the camera front to back to refine focus and side to side to adjust subject placement. It also supports manual focus-stacking sequences. Each axis provides 120 mm of travel, driven by its own lead screw and graduated dial.
Rapid adjustment and fine control come together in the blue micrometer-style dials. Unfold a crank to reposition the camera quickly, then turn the knurled rim for fine adjustments. When folded away, the crank preserves the dial’s complete outer profile and uninterrupted knurled grip.
The rails form a 90° cross, with an upper Arca-type clamp for a camera or lens plate. The Arca-type base slides within a compatible clamp to balance the complete setup, independently of the two screw-driven axes. A 1/4-inch mounting thread provides an additional mounting option.
A copper and PTFE composite sliding structure provides oil-free lubrication. The aluminum-alloy body houses both adjustment axes in a compact crossed layout. A quick-release plate is included.
Macro focus stacking
Move the camera in small steps to capture a sequence with different areas in focus, then combine the images in post-processing for greater depth of field. The rail provides manual positioning control. Choose the step size to suit magnification and depth of field so that the sharp regions overlap between frames. Image capture and stacking are performed separately.
