The GW25 uses a side-operated rack-and-pinion drive to move a camera or lens along a rail. It is intended for manual close-up positioning and framing adjustments.
Rack-and-pinion movement
An aluminum-alloy rail, copper rack and stainless-steel pinion form the positioning mechanism. Backlash compensation supports controlled direction changes, and the mechanism is maintenance-free. The nominal travel is approximately 20.4 mm per control revolution.

Lock after adjustment
The rack-and-pinion drive does not secure the carriage on its own. Engage the carriage lock after positioning to prevent the camera from sliding, and release it before the next adjustment.

Mounting and macro use
The upper clamp and lower base use Arca-type interfaces; a 1/4-inch thread provides an additional mounting option. For manual focus stacking, choose camera steps to suit magnification and depth of field, capture the frames separately and combine them in post-processing.
