The LS18 provides manual camera positioning for close-up photography and focus stacking. A folding crank speeds up repositioning, while the knurled dial rim supports smaller adjustments.
A clear scale reference
The 4 mm lead screw and 100-division dial correspond to 0.04 mm of travel per division. This value is the scale increment, not a claim of measured positioning accuracy. The rail provides 120 mm of travel.

Independent position lock
For horizontal use, the lock can remain released for adjustment. In vertical use, the carriage may slowly move under load; engage the independent lock after positioning and release it before adjusting again.

Mounting and focus stacking
The upper Arca-type clamp can be removed and refitted at 90°. The base has an Arca-type profile and a 1/4-inch mounting thread.
For focus stacking, move the camera in steps and capture overlapping focus regions. Select the step size for the actual magnification and depth of field, then combine the photographs in separate post-processing software.
